There are many couples who find it hard to get pregnant and are looking for conceiving tips online. The Internet is a treasure trove of tips and techniques to do just about anything and tips to get pregnant are one of the most searched items on the web. Why are there so many couples who find it hard to conceive when there are some couples who find it hard to control the rate at which they have kids?

To answer this question is to look at each pregnancy and each couple separately. Each one is unique and although pregnancy is a natural thing for some, there are others who may suffer from inhibitive factors, which impedes pregnancy. These inhibitive factors include environmental, health, and emotional factors, which directly or indirectly affects pregnancy. In addition, what’s also been seen among couples is that when tips are offered on improving their chances of conceiving, it often fails to produce results. This is due in part to the gap of understanding about fertility, among couples.

Fertility is broadly defined as a woman’s ability to conceive or get pregnant. Although pregnancy in of itself is a partnership between a man and a woman, most of the pre pregnancy actions have to be initiated within a woman’s menstrual cycle, and as such understanding the effects of this cycle, has been the focus of the fertility industry. A menstrual cycle is a female’s monthly cycle that begins from the first day of her period to the first day of the next period, lasting between 28 to 32 days. It is within this cycle a woman experiences her period, develops an egg for fertilization and if fertilization proves unsuccessful, resumes her period.

A woman is fertile or able to conceive if and when she is ovulating. This is basically around the middle of the cycle at day 14 or 15. Incidentally, this is also the best time to have intercourse in order to get pregnant. If fertilization is successful conception occurs and the pregnancy cycle begins. However, just focusing on ovulation as a good time to initiate pregnancy, is not good enough. Couples are expected to know and prepare themselves to take advantage of the ovulation days.

  • Getting healthy is the most important tip to consider when look at conceiving. A woman is viewed as being in top condition for pregnancy, when she has an ideal weight. Working out the ideal weight need not be subjective, as it is accepted as one where the woman is neither overweight nor underweight based on her age and height. Why this is so important, is due to research that has found higher probability of pregnancy in women of an ideal weight, compared to others. Since an ideal weight, is based on your diet, exercise and habits, it is essential that you manage these factors in other that you achieve and maintain your ideal weight.Diet: A diet should constitute a steady inflow of the required nutrients, for optimum development of a woman’s reproductive cells, maintaining her hormonal balance, and for the health of the overall reproductive system. One way to help ensure that your body has the required nutrients, in order to encourage conception is to take supplements where applicable. This is usually needed, when current diets are incomplete and unable to support what’s required. Apart from supplements that provide required minerals and vitamins, those rich in folic acid, are also good additions as they provide a boost to the health of the eggs, making them more likely to result in pregnancy. To surmise, your ideal diet should be made up of high quality proteins from things like milk, poultry and lean meats, in addition, to the required minerals and vitamins, to be had from fruits and vegetables. Suffice to say that a diet rich in fiber helps the digestive systems absorb the required nutrients, which in turn supports the reproductive system capacity to initiate conception.

Healthy lifestyle: It goes without saying that a woman’s health extends beyond the two main factors mentioned previously. It also includes her adherence to an overall healthy lifestyle, which is broadly accepted as beneficial for conception. Some of the habits worth reconsidering, are smoking, drinking and taking drugs if pregnancy is goal. These not only impede your ability to become pregnant but can lead to chronic illnesses such as liver problems, heart problems, hypertension, and increased possibility of suffering from a stroke and more devastating health problems. The treatment required for some of these aliments, are detrimental to your fertility.

It is a given that not all men have the same sperm count and motility. Some may have slow moving sperm that may need the pull of gravity to swim to the egg; this is when sexual positioning comes in handy. The most popular one is the man on top with the woman lying on her back or the missionary position. This assists the sperm to move towards the uterus easily plus allows the couple to have space for personal touches, kissing, talking and making eye to eye contact. This position is proven as the most effective technique to increase pregnancy chances.

Consulting a professional regarding any questions about pregnancy and any conceiving tips or technique you may want to try to boost fertility is always welcomed. Do not be anxious about talking to your doctor about infertility as well.
